Two alternative methods of mastering the "Basic" lesson are provided. One is to start immediately playing the full six string chords. If you are able to get this to work without too much trouble immediately then go for it. Many find this impossible at first. Do not let this bother you. The vast majority will find this difficult and it is not important because a second method of mastering this is described in the text and it is extremely simple. The second method is to build up to the six string chord form by a series of very easy steps.
The first step for this easy method, as the text explains, is to begin by plucking only one base sounding string. Within a few minutes this will get you to a point where you can play correct harmony on that one string only at an amazing speed and with complete ease. As already stated this should take a few minutes. Then you are ready for the next step.
That next step is play two harmony strings. This second step will take another few minutes. When that is comfortable you ad another and another until you are playing all six strings at which time you will wonder what was so difficult that you couldn't have done it at the beginning. Don't worry about it. We're all different and the only important thing is you will master the entire course within a few weeks. At that point you can stop and simply be a guitarist or go for the supplementary and/or the advanced course.
